Washington MEGA post

The first week of August I was able to fly up and spend time with El Christensen's. Get ready for a mega post!
Here we are in beautiful Olympia...
On our way to Friday Harbour- these guys know how to do it!

Wall of fog!
Does this remind anyone else of the sneezing turtle in NeverEnding Story? Yes no?

CAMEL!! Who knew Friday Harbour was hiding camels up in them hills..

So there we were at San Juan County Park deciding what to do next. When all the sudden this fin emerges from the water and Erin yells, "That's an orca! Grab your camera let's rock!". We burst out of the car and tear across the park to get a glimpse at these magnificent animals. We sat there for around an hour and a half watching pods of Orcas swim by. We were absolutely mesmerized. It was amazing!

El Casa de Christensen!!

Madrona trees- when the bark peels it is lime green underneath!
Lake Sammamish
Duthie Park

Mountain Biking in the forest... this park was in the middle of the city but you could have fooled me. It was so quiet and secluded in those trees I wouldn't have been surprised to see Sasquatch hiding out!

What to do my last day in Seattle.... How about Crepe de France and kayaking? OKAY!!
Heaven in a crepe- nutella filled goodness.
I want that.

We went kayaking around Portage Bay into Lake Washington. We had to shoot the gap to the other side which involved a lot of screaming and laughing but we made it.
This was the first houseboat built.
Yeah I could live here..
or here....
The Blue Angels were out practicing and the sound was deafening! We screamed in giddiness everytime they flew overhead.

Blue Heron!
Here I am yelling, "the freeway!". I was freaking out that we were kayaking under and around people stuck in rush hour traffic.

I love me some MXPX!
There was a big boat parade and we were amongst some preeeetty big boats. Terrifying? A little. Absolutely exhilirating? Definitely.
We had the best time!! Thanks Erin and Ryan for letting me crash!! Love you guys!!
