Desert Heat

Another amazing trip to the desert. After all the rain we have had it was so nice to actually be HOT and have it feel like summer!

The one and only picture of me- posted to prove I was there.

We always have to stop in Gold Hill, and much to the boys' delight we came across these glass bottles which were promptly stood up and rocks thrown at. We were here for an hour at least.

When all the bottles were in pieces they decided to throw rocks- at other rocks. I don't get it.

A little pre-breakfast hike up the awesome rocks. Chloe was such a great sport. Brian would say "jump" and she would without question. She was up for anything (as you will later see as well).

This may look inviting my friends, but I assure you it was not. It was straight snow run off, and even after our death defying, bushwacking hike I for one was not about to get in. Brian said I must be getting old. I said I was getting smarter.

Mike had a run in or ten with some gnarly rosebushes that left his legs bloody. He's ready to be done hiking here.

Again when I saw Chloe was up for anything I meant it. She's about to long jump over this river. That hike was quite the adventure.

Ahh yes and the warm springs. They were not really that warm but it felt good after that huge hike. We even went back in the cave for a bit, but then the boys started talking about cave monsters etc and I was out of there. What a great trip!
